It’s been proven that painful periods are more common and difficult to endure for overweight and obese women. Hence, why it’s important to develop right habits in childhood to prevent monthly suffering. What habits should you and others develop?
- Keep in mind, that meals should be full of vegetables, and you should eat two to three portions of fruit a day
- Choose wholewheat products
- Opt for healthy fats – they’re in fish, plant oils, seeds and nuts, semi skimmed dairy
- Cut down on meat, sweets, fast food, and other highly processed foods – they’re full of salt, sugar, and harmful fats which your body really doesn’t like
Did you know what nutrients you need if you suffer from painful menstruation? Most of all, these are vitamins D and E, magnesium, calcium, fiber, and omega-3 acids. Supplying iron is also very important because we lose a lot of it when we lose blood. You don’t always need supplements.
