stretching

Do you have a sedentary lifestyle? Experience backache? Try stretching!

What is stretching?

Stretching consists of exercises that improve blood circulation and the overall function of the motor system. By combining elements of gymnastics and bodybuilding in alternating series, we gain a more than 10 minute of exercises for the whole body.

What will we need?

For this type of exercise, we will primarily need a comfortable outfit, mat and a bit of motivation. Sometimes small weights will be useful, but we can successfully replace them with small bottles of water. Exercise wearing whatever is the most comfortable for you. However, when it comes to the mat, it is worth investing in a slightly more expensive, but better one, with a non-slip undercoat. Cheaper mats can easily tear during exercise and slide on the floor under our body weight. This can make it difficult to perform exercises correctly and lead to injury. Luckily, the better exercise comfort will be worth the higher price.

Where do we start?

It is best to start with a warmup! We need to prepare muscles for any physical activity. Stretching muscles without warming them up can cause serious injuries and even inflammation. This can lead to serious degeneration in the future.

What can we gain by stretching regularly?

One of the greatest benefits of stretching muscles is its relaxing effect, which allows tense muscles to rest. Muscle tension is usually caused by low physical activity, sedentary work, stressful lifestyle, etc. Soreness may appear after stretching, but this is not a bad thing. Regular trainings will quickly eliminate the soreness. Thanks to this type of exercise, we will increase joint movement, and additionally strengthen the tendons and muscles. Stretching also has a positive effect on the blood supply to tissues, and this results in an increase in the capacity and condition of our body. This is confirmed, for example, by the fact that, in many cases, stretching is the basic form of rehabilitation after various injuries.

Who should stretch?

Almost anybody! Due to the fact that during these exercises we focus on correct breathing, and the training itself is calm and relaxing, we can really relax and rest. Stretching can be performed by people of all ages and even pregnant women! (Everyone is different, which is why we suggest pregnant women always consult this decision with their doctor to know exactly how far they can go with this.)

Stretching – the perfect medicine

By combining dynamic and static exercises, everyone will find something for themselves in these sets. In addition, it has been proven that this type of training has a positive effect on the well-being of people suffering from depression and struggling with diabetes. As you can see, stretching is pure health.
